Mission: Chapter III: The Hunt is On
Location: Commander Rogers' Temporary Quarters, I.R.W. Ourainavassa
Timeline: 238702.05

There were more than a a few stares as two Ashley Rogerses walked through Drozana and the corridors of the Ourainavassa. The two shared the same glare at anyone gawking and were both quite amused at the fear in eyes of some. When they both arrived in the guest quarters, they both paused, waiting for the other to walk in. Then they both tried to enter at the same time. "Just go in already!" they told each other before both squeezing through the doorway at the same time.

"We have to figure out a better system for this," they both said. "How about you enter doors first. No, you. Dammit. Let's flip a coin..."

Major Rogers reached into her pocket and pulled out a coin, "Benefits of not wearing that uniform again..."

"Heads me, tails you. That can't work! I call tails then. Ugh, shut up!"

Major Rogers pulled out her old Starfleet comm badge from her pocket as Commander Rogers plucked off her's. They both put it on their badges in table, "Let's spin it and whoever it points to will enter doors first. We'll use mine. We can't use two! Maybe they'll both point to one of us. Or they won't. This will take forever. But we have to do something. Fine!"

The two spun their comm badges for a comically long time until finally they both pointed to Commander Rogers. "FINALLY!" they both said as the Major put her old badge back in her pocket and the Commander put her's back on her uniform.

"I have questions..." "You have questions..." They both said.

"How did end up working as a Temporal Agent?" the Major asked.

The Commander walked over to the replicator and came back with two mugs of coffee. "Thought you'd need one." "I needed this, thank you."

They both simultaneously sipped their drinks, but it was the Commander that answered the question, "I didn't expect to be doing this for as long as I have. But some things are... meant to be. For all of the infinite possibilities in the universe there are exponentially more in the multiverse. Yet there are things that have been done and will be done again." They sipped their coffee and both burnt their tongues, "Ow."

The Commander continued, "I've met other versions of us. It's pretty universal. We have this tendency to... help people, consequences and standard conventions be damned. Even in my universe... apparently my moral compass bent towards the greater good, and I was plucked from there and offered the responsibility to achieve my full potential. There aren't many Terrans serving as Temporal Agents, but here I am, with my uniquely un-unique skill set. The same reason you joined Starfleet... and Section 31... and ultimately left both. You're looking to reach your full potential as well."

The Major nodded, it was very disconcerting to listen to herself talk and answer questions she hadn't yet formulated in her head, "Sounds like you've been around the... multiverse? A few times."

The Commander nodded, "I'm definitely one of the more seasoned agents. You know how it is..."

The two nodded at each other, unspoken thoughts and words being exchanged by simple looks and glances.

"Yes, the stakes of this particular mission is incredibly high. We have to prevent the Tal'Shiar from succeeding or else its... all over," the Commander broke the silence.

"But you said that there are things that have been done and will be done again, can't you just time travel into the future and tell us how it all ends?" Major Rogers asked.

The Commander shook her head "Not for this... there's a chance that there will be no future... don't ask me to explain. I still don't understand how this all works. And I wouldn't waste a time jump on something like that anyways. But..."

"'If a target absolutely positively needs to be dead, you send Ashley Rogers,'" they both quoted from their past.

"So you understand the scope?" "I get it."

They both continued to drink their coffees in silence until they both looked at each other with a smirk. "Want to spar?"
