Mission: Chapter III: The Hunt is On
Location: Mess Hall
Timeline: 238701.22

After talking with Hatham, Ash waited until later in the night when people would no longer likely be trying to get dinner in the Mess Hall... the less people around the better for this conversation. She walked up to the counter, "What's for dinner tonight?"

Renee looked up from the kitchen, "Not much is left... I have maybe one more bowl of soup and a pretty sad piece of chicken..."

Ash shrugged, "I'll take it. Bottom of the pot soup and sad chicken sounds about right..."

Renee scraped the rest of the soup into a bowl and put the chicken on a plate, "I normally wouldn't serve this to anyone. But you... you I have no qualms about giving scraps to. Two days in a row that I see you... I thought for sure you'd be avoiding me like the plague."

"Well... I'm not exactly here for me..." Ash started.

Renee slid the bowl and plate towards Ash and grabbed her some silverware, "Oh... I see. What exactly are you here for then?"

"I need to talk to your father," Ash said.

Renee's eyes narrowed, "Why?"

"Because I think he's the only one with the resources to help," Ash responded... pushing around the chicken on her plate. It really was pretty sad.

"We haven't seen each other in 2 years and you think one conversation later, you're in a position to ask for favors?!?" Renee scoffed.

"Well, I would've reached out to him anyways, with or without you being here," Ash defended herself. "He helped me... helped this crew get this ship. It was his intel that was the last piece to the mission. And I didn't even seek him out... I'm not sure when you talked to him last but... he beat the shit out of me for what I did to you. And I deserved all of it... but I'd be an even bigger asshole if I reached out to him behind your back."

Renee glared at Ash, she seemed so different, yet so much the same at the woman she almost married, "What do you need?"

Ash took a sip of the soup, "This is actually still really good..." She reached into her pocket and turned on the signal jammer.

Renee noticed at glared at Ash harder.

Ash looked around to make sure they were alone, "Its not me that needs anything. It's some of the Romulans on this ship... you've been here for a little bit. They're worried about their families... they want to get them off Romulus before the star goes nova. And... there are some... complications with Plan A. We... they need a plan B."

"Plan B? You want to what? Launch a rescue mission that even Picard failed to do? You can't save everyone, Ash," Renee pointed out.

"I know, but we can at least save some... the families of the people on board this ship... we need ships. We need travel documentation. We need the things that people like us could make happen. Miguel has connections. I want to ask him to help us," Ash said. Of course, she couldn't save them all.

"Who are you working with? If I'm going to get involved, I want to be brought in. No more hiding, Ash. You got away with that act with me for far too long. If you want my help, we are in this as equals," Renee drew the line. If she was going to ask her father for a favor for her ex fiance, she will need more than just the good word of Ashley Rogers.

Ash finished her soup and ate the last bite of chicken, "Okay. Let me talk to my guy and he will make contact with you. But, so that you're aware... its not Raven. That's why there's secrecy... we have some doubts that her Plan A is viable. So, let's keep this conversation between us. And when my guy comes to talk to you, he will ask you for leftover soup and chicken scraps. Thank you." She turned off the signal jammer and walked out of the Mess Hall and headed to Hatham's quarters.

Renee shook her head at Ash. How did she keep getting involved with the assassin.....
