Jolan tru! Welcome on board the IRW Ourainavassa.
Welcome on board the I.R.W. Ourainavassa, a freelance ship affiliated with the Romulan Star Empire.
------------
The year is 2387, and the star of the Romulus system is about to go supernova, threatening the continued existence of the Romulan Empire. And yet, the Senate seems to be oblivious to the threat. With Starfleet support withdrawn after the attack on Mars, some enterprising officers had to take matters into their own hands.
When Commander Areinnye of the I.R.W. Dominus hired the mercenary only known as Raven to acquire an old warbird and provide escort to a flotilla of refugee ships, nobody could have expected things to go this wrong.
A few months later, the plan has derailed entirely. The flotilla has been lost, captured by unknown attackers, with only a handful of crew escaping to tell the tale.
When Raven and her crew began to investigate the attacks, they repeatedly came upon one name - Vulture.
Who is this Vulture? What's the deal with the temporal agents that have started appearing everywhere? And what are the Tal'Shiar up to at Hobus?
These are the mysteries of the I.R.W. Ourainavassa...
-----------
The I.R.W. Ourainavassa is a sim within 16th "Zodiac" Fleet. Our concept is rather unique - a mix of Romulan officers and Freelancers, crewing an advanced prototype Mogai-class warbird. We are a welcoming friendly and active community, and we accept players of any experience level.
We use Discord as the main means of communication among the crew, and joining our server is a requirement for any new recruits to the sim (the link may be found in the menu bar). Joining the discord of 16th Fleet is encouraged, but not required.
If you have any more questions, pop into our discord and get to know the motley crew of the I.R.W. Ourainavassa!

Jolan tru!
Well, haven't done one of these in a while, have I. But I think it's time to make these a more regular habit again. So here we are.
Quite a few things have happened in the sim lately, and let me just say, I am darn impressed by the writing and storytelling you all are doing. We dealt with finally coming face-to-face with Vulture, nearly got our ship blown up for the troubles, lost a few people, and it was all written beautifully. I especially loved our little excursion into what I like to call Star Trek: M*A*S*H with all the hilarity around our extremely dysfunctional medical department.
Then we met our new Terran allies, and the shenanigans there were just absolutely priceless. This story really has it all, high-tension drama, a splash of romance, a hearty side of comedy.
We've also got a few new faces on board. First, we have Five of Eight, liberated Borg Drone currently locked up in the brig, who will join our engineering department once the implants are removed. And then we have Mavis Vermillion, rogue Terran captain who was executed as a traitor by the Empire - but survived the destruction of her ship in 2410 and ended up here with us. An excellent character written by an outstanding player that I have worked with in the past, and am very excited to have here with us.
Lastly, of course, the question is, where to next? There are two major events that need to occur before this "season" of our story concludes. The liberation of the refugees from Vulture's asteroid base, and, of course, the Battle of Hobus. I won't spoil too much, but I will tell you this - the XO and I have started to make plans, and it will be one hell of a ride.
Of course, the aftermath of Hobus is pretty set in canon - Eisn blows up and takes Romulus with it, shattering the Romulan Star Empire and causing one of the greatest humanitarian crises in all of Trek history. What isn't set, however, is what will happen to the Ourainavassa and her rag-tag crew of dysfunctional misfits. And I'll be honest, although we've had a few ideas, nothing has been decided yet. We shall enter that wormhole when we get to it.
That's all for now, keep up the good work!

Jolan tru, and Happy New Year, Crew.
Before I get into the news concerning the sim, current events in the real word deserve a few words. I know that we have some players here that live and work in or near Washington, D.C., and following the events of the last few days, I am sure you will all echo my wishes for their health and safety. I also wish to express my deepest respect and appreciation for those in the emergency services and working in healthcare for all they are doing, across the world, in these difficult times.
Moving on to matters concerning the Ourainavassa.
Firstly, would like to thank Johnny, the player behind Commander Areinnye, for trusting me with the running of this sim, after all the work you put into getting it started. He has announced that he will step away from the sim once again, due to other commitments, but he will continue to be a valued member of our community.
Secondly. Taryn, you have stepped up to a temporary assignment as 2XO brilliantly, and you have been a great help. As you rightly pointed out, command positions are usually equally IC and OOC, and once Taryn returns to the ship, we will need to find a way to get her into that position of trust. I am sure everyone will agree that your writing is great, and that Taryn is an amazing character we all love to hate. Thank you for coming back to us and enriching the sim so much.
Thirdly, to Kaiae t'Lien. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have been an excellent XO, and I would not have been able to transition to command without your support. But as life is taking its course, I don't feel that you are able to continue in that position, simply as you do not appear to have much time for us. You continue to be a valued member of our community, but we need, I need, an XO who is able to dedicate the necessary time to the role. And it is with sadness that I have decided the time has come to relieve you of your rank as executive officer. I am sure you will understand why this is necessary, and I hope you will continue to be a key part of our story.
Of course, that leaves us needing a new XO, and there really is only one choice. Ash Rogers has ICly become Raven's right hand, and I feel that it is time to make that official. We have developed and planned the direction for the future plot of our sim together, and I am looking forward to working with you as the new Executive Officer of the ship.
With the pending changes to the main plotline, we are shortening the interval period. Please do feel free to continue writing any story you see fit, set between the current date and stardate 238703.01, when we will resume the main plot.
In real time terms, this will be some time in early to mid-February.
Thank you for continuing to make this sim as great as it is.
Yours,
Sehan "Raven" t'Varis

Merry Christmas, and Season's Greetings.
The final part of *Earning our Wings* has now been posted, and Chapter II has thus concluded.
Chapter III of our story will take a different structure. As of 238701.15, we are back at Drozana, from where we will be searching for the Vulture. You are free to write any and all stories you want to tell (if it has any bearing on the main plot, however, please clear it with me first), set between our return to Drozana and 238706.01 - when the next major episode of our story will take place.
For an OOC time frame, I am aiming to restart the more structured story path some time in February.
Enjoy the holidays, and thank you for making this sim as great as it is.

Jolan tru, crew of the Raven's Claw.
I must say, I am proud of us. Over the past week, ten JPs have been posted, and there are quite a few being worked on at present. Considering that two months ago, we were discussing whether we would have to shut the sim down completely, this has been remarkable progress.
And this newfound momentum means that we will soon move on our story. With the Vulture looming over us, ghosts of the past reappearing for both Raven and Ash, and the questionable involvement of Starfleet Intelligence, what's next for our adventuring band of misfits?
All I will say is this: acquiring the Ourainavassa, the prototype warbird that will become our permanent home, will bring challenges of an entirely different nature than we would have expected. More spectres of the past will rear their heads, and surprising discoveries will be made. Never a dull moment!
On an OOC note, the specs for Taryn's shuttle, the Kestrel, as well as the specs and deck plan for the prototype Ourainavassa-type Mogai-class warbird are now available in the appropriate sections of the website, and the promised new skin for the sim is under construction, and will be applied in due course.
Please do keep up the energy, and carry on making this the amazing sim that it is.
Thank you, everyone, for sticking with it.
All the best,
Colonel "Raven" t'Varis

Jolan tru, crew!
After several setbacks and some difficult times for our sim, we have finally made it to the end of Chapter I: Resurgam. We have now arrived at the infamous Drozana station, for some well-earned shore leave, as well as to join up with the crew of the Flotilla hospital ship - and to welcome some new and old members of the crew onto the Raven's Claw. Our time at Drozana will also be spent further seeking leads into the identity of the mysterious Vulture, and preparing for the mission to finally acquire the warbird IRW Ourainavassa. Good job, everyone!
In other matters, we are currently working on getting full backdoor access to the website, in order to finally give us back a proper, individual skin, as well as to update the rank set. There will also be some shuffling around on the Discord, and generally some updates on how the whole sim is run. More on this in due course.
Since the last news post, some things have obviously changed, with me taking permanent command of the sim, with Kaiae t'Lien as Subcommander. We have also sadly seen quite a few people depart the sim, to the point where we held a meeting to decide the future of the project. And I am happy to see that not only did we decide to continue the story, activity has also come to an all-time high. Recruitment is ongoing, and if any of you know anyone who may be interested in joining our small family, do please send them our way.
I know we will continue to grow our crew together, develop our characters, and tell this epic tale of adventure and drama. And I am very much looking forward to it.
Thank you, everyone.
