Mission: Prologue: Before the Inferno
Location: Verelan-Hdrael Science Facilities
Timeline: December 2386

T'Lan sighed and rubbed his temples. He most of his time so far in the laboratories onboard Verelan-Hdrael, the Romulan space station crawling with Tal Shiar.

The telemetry from that mysterious nebula in the Caridia System was inconclusive at first. When he wasn't sleeping or examining the telemetry, he was reading articles about spatial anomalies from noted academic journals. He had found some relevant theories within the pages of those articles, although they didn't really help him understand why this particular nebula was expanding so quickly.

He ran a spectrographic analysis of the nebula, just in case there was a more conventional reason behind the rapid expansion of the nebula. He is sure he caught hints of a warp signature in the nebula, but they are so faint, he was not sure he was just reading the ripples of the Gorn ship.

Suddenly, several energy spikes showed up on the computer, energy spikes unusual in any such anomaly. They appeared artificial, almost as though they were created by something. He noted it down excitedly in his PADD.

He started to run scans on the energy spikes in the nebula. They were consistent with warp signatures. Could this have been another Gorn plot? Were they aware of their deception. He felt as though he would need to tell the Commander immediately. This would change everything if he were correct.
