Personality & Traits

General Overview Kaol never knew his parents, having grown up an orphan. Unhindered by family ties, he has devoted his life to helping others, in relentless pursuit of excellence. The only people that matter to him are his patients and those in need. Everyone else around him are either instruments to help him or they are roadblocks in his ability to treat those in his care.

Kaol's sense of self is tied completely to his identity as a surgeon. He doesn't take failures or any loss of a patient well as it reflects poorly on the image he has created for himself.

Personal History Kaol grew up on Romulus, with no history, abandoned at an orphanage as a baby. As a child, he may have been curious about where he came from and why his parents gave him up, but that curiosity gave way to leaving his unknown past and focusing on the infinite possibilities of his future.

He looked up to the medical staff that cared for him and his fellow orphans. He spent every waking hour trying to learn everything he could so that he could one day become a doctor.

While others may view his confidence as egotistical arrogance, he views it as proven skills that makes him the best at what he does.

Relevant experience Kaol was at the top of his class in every school he has ever gone to. He chose to serve the Romulan Empire in order to get access to the best and most cutting edge technology and equipment. He earned a reputation during the Dominion War as the surgeon that could bring back the most critically wounded patients. He thrived in the wartime environment, despite the toll it took as the casualties mounted.

When the war ended, Kaol was able to choose anywhere we wanted to practice, as his skills were in high demand. He returned to Romulus, figuring that if anyone needed him to treat them, he would be easier to find.
