General Overview		Former bank executive and mother to Kaiae t'Lein; second cousin to the now-deceased father of the children (Torren and Ariah) she is now raising on the colony; official owner of the colony's Bank of Ferenginar account.
Strengths & Weaknesses		*A good negotiator with sharp accounting and finance skills, and lots of coordination experience and decent 'people' skills from decades helping run a bank; but little experience dealing with non-Romulans and these same skills occasionally come off wrong with other species as a result. *Long a rules-follower who aspired to and was living a rather ordinary life, she discovered in the lead-up to the nova that she had more of an edge to her than even she had ever expected; given her solution to the funds crunch experienced by the evacuation efforts was to independently decide to start embezzling money from the bank and establish and place it in an illegal foreign account. She is still coming to terms, perhaps, with this unexpected side of herself, for better or for worse. *Nothing impressive from a combat and martial arts perspective; as the last physical conflict she ever got into was helping the security team throw a drunk man out of a branch of the bank.

Personal History		Born the eldest of two children to a couple in a large city on Romulus, Vareth never held the sort of grander ambitions some do. She completed the minimum term of military service as a logistics officer, and was back in her hometown by the time she turned 45, completing additional coursework in accounting and getting a job at a bank headquartered in the city, then marrying childhood sweetheart, who'd gotten a job in the bank's legal section. Over the next few decades, the pair raised a daughter and two sons. The younger two of her three children unfortunately died in the war with the Dominion; she considered having another child once the war ended but decided she had no desire to deal with raising toddlers again in middle age, and instead sold the city townhouse she'd raised her family in and bought a larger house in the suburbs for herself and husband to share with her parents and her sister Taela, with the plan that once her parents retired, they would use the space to collaboratively raise any children her daughter Kaiae might have in the future. In short, despite the much-diluted noble blood technically running through her veins; she was in practice a rather ordinary member of the Romulan urban professional class, living a rather ordinary life for such. In the lead up to the destruction of Romulus, however, Vareth found herself taking on somewhat of a coordination role amongst the families of those her daughter and compatriots hoped to extract; mostly because she was a convenient point for her daughter to pass information to (and receive from in return) and because she had fairly unrestricted ability to travel. Hoping to provide funds to complete the venture - and lacking the level of significant independent wealth that would allow for that - she instead used her acumen as a banker to set up an unauthorized external account at the Bank of Ferenginar...then carefully and quietly funded said account by shaving tiny amounts off the top of a variety of transactions handled by the bank she worked for. She also made contact with her cousin Jaelen, a staffer at the Internal Affairs Ministry unlikely to be able to make it off planet due to his position in the capital; arranging for him to issue necessary travel permits to the others on the list and taking his son and daughter home with her to save them from the impending disaster. Since arrival on the colony, Vareth has been focused on raising the children she inherited from her cousin, as well as continuing to manage the Bank of Ferenginar account that serves as the colony's would-be treasury funds; purchasing the planet itself as well as supplies, and continuing to make investments to hopefully sustain it; and has found herself becoming to be viewed, without any plan for or desire to be such, as a leader by many of the other colonists. Much like having somehow ended up with a toddler to raise in middle age despite having no desire for that, either; she wearily asks herself on an at-least-daily basis how she ended up in the this position.
