Mission: Chapter III: The Hunt is On
Location: Drozana Station
Timeline: 238701.15

"Mr Lynn, take us in and complete docking procedures."

Three days had passed since the Ourainavassa had become the new home for Raven and her crew. The ship was in a surprisingly good condition - it appeared that the pirates had barely touched a thing, instead hoping to find the codes needed to unlock her systems. Nevertheless, Raven had decided to return to Drozana station, where they had hired one of the larger docking bays to inspect the ship properly, and make any repairs necessary.

Once the warbird was ready, the old station would then become the base for the operation to begin the hunt for the Vulture. Despite her considerable upgrades, the Ourainavassa still required a sizeable crew, and so Gedak had taken it upon himself to put out new recruitment adverts. Raven had also contacted Areinnye, in hopes of getting her to send some crew her way. All in all, things were definitely on the up for Raven and her colourful band of misfits.

The docking procedure had gone smoothly, and the engineering teams were already out and proceeding with the inspection. Raven was sitting behind her desk in her new ready room, just off the bridge, still marvelling at the technology carried by the new vessel. Not only was her office now larger than the quarters she once inhabited on the Claw, it was also much better furnished. There was a small, comfortable sitting area, complete with leather sofa and a low table, and a dedicated drinks cabinet. It was here that she had elected to hang the old, tattered Tal Shiar banner she had previously had behind her desk. Her bat'leth was now on its own, proper display stand, above the tank set into the wall. She had known, of course, that Federation captains were often quite fond of having an aquarium in their ready room, but what a Tal Shiar commander would have as a pet, she did not even want to think about. For now, the tank was empty.

But comfort was not the only thing that was much improved. All over the ship, holographic consoles were installed, running a modified version of the Federation's famous LCARS system. With a press of a button, information could be projected into thin air. Of course, their old vessel had had a holo projector installed in the briefing room table - but on this vessel, nearly all consoles were equipped with holographic displays.

Raven was distracted from her musings, when the door opened, and Gedak entered. Without waiting for an invitation, the Ferengi sat in the chair opposite the commander's desk.

"I was thinking, boss," he began - again, no formal greeting, no waiting for Raven to invite him to speak. This, after all, was a mercenary vessel still. "Since Taryn left and took the cook with her, we haven't had any shuttlecraft, fighters, anything. This bird has two docking bays, and they are completely empty."

Raven raised an eyebrow. "I know that. Your point?"

The Ferengi gave a toothy grin and slid a PADD towards the colonel. "Have a look at this. Three Federation runabouts for sale. Pretty good condition, decent price. Apparently, since the Feds adopted the Flyer-class, they've been selling off their old Danube's for a slip a dozen. Or here, Cardassian Hideki, left over from the Dominion War. The guy even has a Jem'Hadar fighter in stock."

The colonel took the PADD, glanced over it, and nodded. "We could use some small craft, true. See what that dealer actually has. Take one of the engineers, and a pilot with you. We don't want to be ripped off."

Eagerly, Gedak snatched back the PADD. "You know me, boss. If there's a good deal to be had, I am going to grab it."

With that, he rose, and hurried out of the office.

Raven leaned back and took a sip from the tea she had taken from the replicator earlier. Taryn may have taken the chef with her when she suddenly departed, but at least the replicators on this ship were working properly, she mused. Plus, like most larger Romulan warbirds, it came with a fully-equipped hydroponics bay that both provided a garden for crew to relax in, and a source for fresh foods. And a place for Eavy to get her exercise.

With a sigh, the young colonel reopened the documents she had been reviewing. Time to get back to work.
