Mission: Prologue: Before the Inferno
Location: Tal'Diann Offices, Dominus

Valrek had stopped only for sleep since his meeting with his very attractive Commander. The information that she had divulged to him about the actions she and others was about to undertake. By telling Valrek, she had made him a traitor to the Empire, purely by his lack of actions. Not that he disagreed with any of it. In fact, he was now working toward to ensuring the success of that mission, which is why he had barely stopped except for sleep.

This had clearly been in the planning for some time and Valrek was immediately concerned for the security of the mission. He had trawled through the communication logs. Although some were encrypted, Valrek had no trouble breaking through the encryption on the files. He had found nothing out of the ordinary. However, there were more ways of sending communications and he had been trawling those records. Communications were easy to hide and even harder to find, but Valrek had built a career on tracking the Tal Shiar. He knew if there was something to find, he would find it eventually.

And it would take him too long to do this by hand. He had created a computer algorithm long ago, that would trawl through the data, looking for unusual patterns within normal patterns and compare them these to other files in the log. It was exhaustive, but it took less time than trawling himself. He also had another bit of software that was running, which would alert him to any outside of the norm comm traffic or any access of secondary systems.

It was the later, that prompted Valrek's attention from his drink, his software had triggered an alert to his console. He moved swiftly over to his console and accessed it. Someone was sending a message. His software had begun tracking it, but before it could finish, the signal cut off. He recognised the systems that were being used and the encryption that had been used to hide the user.

He knew now he had more work and he now someone on the ship was sending secret communications and no doubt, they were the Tal'Shiar.
