Mission: Chapter III: The Hunt is On
Location: Commander's Office, I.R.W. Ourainavassa
Timeline: 238702.06

Raven had gone around the ship to ensure that everything was ready for the upcoming operation. After all, this would be the first time they would take the Ourainavassa into battle, and even though the vessel was technologically advanced, and they had performed several combat drills, reality could often bring unexpected surprises. Especially when dealing with the likes of the Vulture. But the colonel was satisfied with how well the crew was prepared. There was, however, one last thing to address before they left Drozana.

So, she had returned to her office, and called T'Ango in for a private meeting before the mission briefing. The Dosadi had been very helpful in the trip to Hobus, and had fitted in well with the rest of the crew, so it seemed only natural to invite her to join the Ourainavassa's senior staff. Raven retrieved a coffee from the replicator, and sat at her desk, waiting for the felinoid to arrive.

T'Ango entered a moment later. She was curious as to what the invitation was about - there were after all several things she'd gotten tied into since arriving, beyond the original reason she and Arnason had come. "Hello, Colonel," she said while taking in the various interesting items decorating the office. "I take it we have something to discuss."

"Welcome, T'Ango," Raven said in a friendly tone. "Please, do help yourself to a refreshment from the replicator, and take a seat.

"Thank you." T'Ango inclined her head cordially and got herself a cup of mint tea before taking a seat and waiting for the Colonel to continue.

When the Dosadi had sat down, the colonel continued. "Now, as I understand, you and Major Rogers are old friends, is that correct? I hear you have been assisting her and Sublieutenant Lynn with their project, and I never took the time to thank you for that."

"Yes, Rogers and I are old friends," T'Ango affirmed. "Which is how I got involved in their 'project'. There's no need to thank me - that ship was sweet to pilot," her tailed swished slightly recalling it, but stpped as she considered where this might be going, "though I won't do it again without discussing it with my partner. I got caught up in old times and new opportunities, and that wasn't fair to him."

"Ah, yes. Your partner, Mr Gunnar Arnasson, correct?" She took a sip from her coffee. "What brought you here, anyway? I assume Major Rogers had something to do with it?"

"Yes. He's an old friend of Rogers' too, and Renee and Dr. Gable. In fact, I originally met them through him," T'Ango explained. She blew on her tea, considering how to answer the next question. They had been contacted after all because of fears among the crew that the Colonel might not be reliable... She didn't know this person well enough to know how she'd react to that. She didn't want to get anyone who was only being understandably worried in trouble. "It was Renee who contacted us, though I think it was Rogers who initiated things. You see, Arnason and I have been involved in smuggling refugees out of the RSE for some time now. It sounds as though there's a need for ship less ...obvious... than this one to help with that."

Raven nodded. "Yes, I assume you are speaking of Hatham and his plan. The original contact of mine I had intended to call upon proved less than reliable, so I am glad that they found an alternate arrangement. Be assured that I will do all that is in my own power to support you where needed. I do, after all, hold a Tal Shiar officer's commission." she paused for a moment, considering her next words carefully. "You may by now have heard of our repeated run-ins with a pirate band led by an individual known as "Vulture". They have been very specifically targetting refugees from Romulus. However, an opportunity has arisen for us to set a trap for them, and, with a bit of luck, deal a major blow to their operation. I had originally considered offering you a place on my crew, however, I feel that you may be of better help with your own vessel. Tell me, is your ship combat capable?"

"I'm glad you understand. Romulans take family seriously, and they are rarely content with a single plan in any case." That settled, at least in her own mind, T'Ango considered the rest. The idea of the offer was flattering but she was glad the Colonel realized that a ship master would not want to abandon her own vessel for a berth on someone else's."Yes, my vessel is combat capable - not on the level of this one of course, but," her lips parted in a fang-revealing smile, "she packs a bigger punch than anyone would expect. She also has a cloak - non-standard, admittedly, since it's part Orion and part Romulan tech, but it works well enough for evasion. You see, we know of this Vulture. Last time, we had refugees and running silent was the better part of valor, but as I told Dr. Gable, that is prey any Raider would love to take down. Including me, though I will need to make some contacts - something to assure that our original mission isn't lost if we are."

"I would not have expected anything else. If you are willing to support us in our mission, we are having a briefing in an hour." Raven smiled. "I have a good feeling about this one, not going to lie. Do make you preparations swiftly, though, as we are heading out tomorrow morning."

Tomorrow morning? Hrrm. Short notice, but probably enough time. She might even be able to throw a heads up to her old Raider team... An hour to discuss it with Arnason was cutting it a little short. "I'm sure we will be. Given the short notice, I'd like to bring my partner to the briefing. He wants the Vulture gone as much as anyone, but I don't feel right committing us without him being part of it."

Raven nodded. With T'Ango, Arnason, Hatham, and both Ashley Rogers, the briefing room would be getting rather busy. "Very well. The main conference room, which we use as a briefing room, is located on Deck Three. I am looking forward to seeing both of you there."
