Mission:
Chapter IV: Unravelling the Mystery
Location: Miles and Mila Lynn's quarters, I.R.W. Ourainavassa
Timeline: 238702.16
When Mila came back from the mess hall, to find Miles and Sari making out on the couch in the lounge area. She had simply rolled her eyes and switched off her implant, knowing that the rest of the evening was probably going to be rather noisy. She got along very well with Sari, who had practically moved in to Miles' quarters now. But even though she really liked seeing her brother so happy, she couldn't help but envy him. She had never had a relationship in her life. Sure, she'd been on dates, even had sex, but she could count on one hand how often that had happened.
She dived into her bedroom, took off her uniform and hung it in her wardrobe, ready to wear again for the memorial tomorrow. Once she had undressed completely, she grabbed her robe and headed to the small bathroom attached to the suite to take a shower. Miles and Sari weren't in the lounge any more, she noted with a chuckle. After her shower, she headed back to her bedroom and slid into her bed, naked. She never wore clothes to bed, finding them constricting and uncomfortable - which had led to a bit of a problem before, but she didn't care. She'd rather rush to the bridge in nothing but her bathrobe in an emergency than not be able to sleep.
Of course, all comfort in the world didn't help tonight. She was a little tipsy from all the drinking, but that normally helped her sleep. She tossed and turned in her bed, trying to find a position that would help her find sleep, but with no success. Her mind was racing. The Terrans, time travel, Miles and Sari and whatever they may be doing in his bedroom.
Suddenly, she touched her ear to switch on her implant again. And, indeed, the noises coming from the other bedroom were rather telling. She smiled to herself, and turned her hearing off. Let them have their fun, she thought, as she closed her eyes and started to doze off.
Mila's sleep had been restless, full of bizarre dreams. She was touring the Terran ship with their Captain, who, for some reason, ended the tour in her personal quarters. As soon as Mila followed her, Freya pulled her in and kissed her. The rest of the dream had been a blur.
Sleepy, Mila rubbed her eyes and switched on her implant. "Computer, time."
"It is 0356 hours."
Shit. She had not even been asleep for two hours. But, once again, she did not manage to fall asleep again. After laying in bed for almost an hour, Mila decided to give up and get up. Normal duties for the day had been suspended for the memorial, which was to begin at 1100. She slipped on some joggers and a zip-up hoodie, and went into the lounge to get herself a raktajino from the replicator. Breakfast service in the mess hall usually didn't start until 0600, so she would have to pass another hour or so waiting.
As she sipped her sweet, milky coffee, her mind went back to the dream she had. She couldn't explain it. She had never had a dream like that before, at least not about another woman. And the Captain... yes, Freya was very attractive, and they had certainly gotten along well, but she would never - or would she?
Frustrated, Mila put her cup down and shook her head. She would have to get her mind onto other things, she said to herself, as she went back into her bedroom, emerging shortly after in her workout gear. Maybe an hour or two in the gym would do the trick.
