Mission: Chapter III: The Hunt is On
Location: Drozana Station
Timeline: 238701.16/Afternoon

Back at Drozana Station in the new ship, and already Xia was fleeing back to the Ourainavassa. At least the air conditioning was working on the ship! At least the ship was relatively new to her, and her quarters were larger, so it wouldn’t be such a hardship as it might be if she’d been serving on it for longer.

Seeing someone approaching down the corridor, Xia approached the turquoise-haired girl with a smile. She hadn’t had a lot of time to spend with the young teenager since everything about getting the Ourainavassa had been such a whirl of activity, but they now had some time to relax.

“Hey, girl,” Xia greeted, leaning against the bulkhead as the door to Mila and Miles’ quarters slid open. “You busy?” she asked. “I figured we could go out shopping, get you some new clothes,” she told the girl. “I noticed you have the bare essentials, but nothing for a nice night out on the town.”

Mila had just run a major diagnostic on the entire science lab, carefully making sure that the pirates had not messed up all the sensitive equipment there during their ownership of the Ourainavassa. It had surprised her how well-equipped the lab was, but then this was a Tal Shiar vessel, and she felt it better not to ask questions regarding the intended purpose of all the lab kit.

So, when the friendly Betazoid came up to her just as she returned to her quarters, Mila simply smiled. She had turned off her implant almost an hour ago, so she had not heard a word Xia had said to her. Stifling a yawn, she touched the control behind her ear.

"Hey, Xia," Mila finally said, fighting off another yawn. "Long day in the lab. What's up? Sorry, didn't have my hearing on."

Not a problem,” Xia said. This time she signed as well as spoke, both aloud and telepathically. Mila could decide which method to communicate with her. “I thought I would stop by and see if you wanted to go shopping for some new clothes, maybe a night out, have some fun.”

Mila shuddered as she heard Xia's voice in her head. "Please, no telepathic talk. I hate that," she replied, shyly. "Just normal talk is fine. I like the idea of going out shopping, but, can I take a shower first?"

“Sure, of course,” Xia said. “I’ll meet you at the airlock in an hour?” she suggested.

"Sure, sounds good!"

An hour later, Mila was waiting at the airlock. She had taken a quick shower, changed into some more comfortable clothes, and grabbed a small, black bag that she had hung over her shoulder. In her bag, she had a few things she thought would come in handy, some latinum, a PADD, a hypospray, a communicator, a tricorder, and a phaser. Having a bag with nearly infinite capacity was one of the smaller miracles of technology she had developed.

Xia walked up wearing breathable short shorts and a low cut tank top. Her hair was held up off her neck with a pair of sharp spikes, revealing the strange tattoo on the back of her neck, a circle with three wavy lines inside it. Like most on Drozana, she openly carried a phaser sidearm, and had a belt with a couple knives hanging from it. Her comm badge was tucked away in her pocket with her Social, a civilian communicator and holonet device.

“Where would you like to start first?” Xia asked Mila as she cycled the airlock, and they were hit by the wave of heat from the station, mixed with the stench of the great unwashed of the galaxy broiling in their own perspiration. “Four Gods, I hope they get the environmental controls fixed soon.”

Mila smiled, and pulled a small hypospray out of her bag. "Here," she said, in her usual, quiet manner. "This stuff is usually administered to soldiers fighting on desert planets and the like. Cools your body down regardless of outside temperature." She handed the small device to Xia. "As for where to start, I'll follow your lead. I think there's a few tailors around the bazaar?"

Xia lifted an eyebrow and took the hypospray. “Never let them see you sweat, kid,” she said, giving Mila a wink and pressing the hypo against her neck.

Their first stop in the bazaar was a Sun Spot outlet. Xia eyed the Ferengi proprietor, pretty sure most of the clothes in the store fell off a truck, as it were. It was Drozana Station, after all. But Sun Spot catered to the fashions of people Mila’s age and would be a good place to get her some everyday clothes, from fitted tees with band logos to skinny jeans to show off her figure. The Ferengi seemed eager to help, and Xia figured they didn’t get many customers Mila’s age out this way. But even a spacer teen liked to keep up with the fashion trends on Betazoid and Earth as much as they could.

“Some good deals here,” Xia noted, holding up an extra small pink Millenial Sex Pickle t-shirt with a rather suggestive band logo. “So what do you like, Mila?”

Mila eyed the shirt Xia was holding up, and chuckled. "Not that, for sure. Can you imagine that colour with my hair? I would look like a clown!" She scanned the shelf in front of her, disappointed at the lack of black and white, when she spotted a silvery strapless dress hanging off a rail nearby.

Smiling, she held it up against herself. It reached halfway down her thigh -- not too long, not too short -- and seemed to compliment her figure nicely. Quickly, Mila turned her head to spot the changing room. "I'm going to try this one on," she said to Xia, before heading off.

Xia smiled and nodded. She chose a few items for herself, and followed to the changing rooms.

A few moments later, Mila emerged from the changing room, wearing the dress. It fit perfectly, as if it had been molded around her form. Still, she had not worn anything as form-fitting before. "Um, Xia," she asked, nervously. "What do you think?"

Xia had put on a similar dress and was checking herself out in a mirror. She turned to appraise Mila. “You look stunning, Mila,” she said with a smile. “I would peel you out of that thing in a heartbeat,” she teased the teen. “It’s always nice to have an outfit that makes eyes pop out of heads,” she said, putting her hands on Mila’s arms and holding her at arms length as she studied the girl. “Do you like it?”

Mila looked at her reflection in the mirror, and nodded sheepishly. "Yeah, I like it. I'm going to take it. And then we can go somewhere else and look for some more casual stuff, maybe?" Smiling, she disappeared back into the cabin to change back into her regular clothes.

“Casual stuff, sure. But you need to some sexy stuff to go underneath that dress,” Xia reminded. “For when someone does peel it off you.” She laughed and returned to her own changing room to put on her old clothes and gather up what she was going to purchase. “Any thoughts on what you want to do after shopping?” she asked as she came out again.

Mila shrugged as they went to pay for their purchases. "Eh, I don't need any fancy underwear. Don't like the stuff, it's uncomfortable. And besides," she added with a smirk, "it's not as if I have much that would need support anyway. What would you suggest we do next? I could do with a bite to eat, if I'm honest."

Xia nodded. “Oh, you’ve got a decent handful,” she said, smiling at the girl. “Every girl should have something sexy, even if it's just for her. And if you want a guy, I’m just the girl to play wingman for you,” she promised Mila with a smile as they headed out with their purchases, walking toward the food court. “Oh! There’s a Gino’s here,” she said. “What do you like?”

Mila shrugged. "Anything, really. I'm not much of a fussy eater." She smiled. It was the first time in ages that she'd enjoyed herself this much , and the first time in her life she was able to have a "girly" day out.

“Great! You ever eaten at Gino’s?” Xia asked, working their way through the crowd toward the restaurant. “Authentic Earth Cuisine” it read. “Let’s see what their theme is this week.”

Mila shook her head. "I've been past the place tons of times while I lived here, but never actually been inside. We never had latinum to spare for fancy dinners." Her smile grew wide when she spotted the sign outside the restaurant. "Japanese! I love the sound of that!"

“Ah, sushi and kobe steak and noodles,” Xia noted, “among other fine Japanese cuisine.”

The doors opened, and the two ladies stepped inside a large, ornate Japanese garden on the side of a mountain. The pathway of white stones led around a zen garden of sand and stone. All around them, cherry trees were in full bloom, pink and white petals floating down like snow around them. The path led to a still, peaceful lake with an island in the center. A wooden bridge spanned the water to the island, where the open sided, peaked roof restaurant was. The view from the restaurant was down the mountain, overlooking Kyoto.

The restaurant was a bar and a series of tables, sometimes occasionally marked off by privacy screens of white rice paper walls painted with traditional Japanese line art imagery. At the bar, a large, broad shouldered Caucasian man with brown hair wearing a kimono poured saki. Xia and Mila were met by a gorgeous, buxom blonde woman in a red and gold dragon themed kimono. Her face had been painted like a geisha, and she offered plenty of cleavage for admiration. She was a woman who probably would look more at home in a low cut, torn dress clutching onto the sinewy thighs of some muscle bound man wearing a kilt, but she pulled off the Japanese look pretty well, all things considered.

“Welcome to Gino’s,” the woman said, giving a bow. “I am Charlene, your server for the day. How many in your party?”

“Two,” Xia said. “Thank you, Charlene.”

Charlene smiled. “This way.” She led them further into the restaurant to a table with an excellent view of the city and the gardens. “May I get you something to drink to start? Or an appetizer?” She put down menus -- actual paper menus.

Mila looked around. She had heard that Gino's was actually a repurposed holosuite, but this was beyond what she had expected. She had never been to Earth, so whether the view was accurate to the real thing, she did not know, but it was definitely impressive. She turned to the waitress. "I'll have some green tea, with some lemon, please." Then, she looked at the menu, before looking at Xia. "You seem to know this place. What's your recommendation for starters?"

“Sake,” Xia ordered for herself, taking a seat and opening the menu. “Well, depends. Do you like raw fish?” she asked Mila. “That’s the big question. Or are you vegetarian? Otherwise, everything is really good. You won’t beat the kobe steak. I like the grilled eel. We could share a sushi sampler, if you want, have a steak, and finish with some mochi cakes and green tea ice cream. And a sake sampler,” she said with a grin.

Mila nodded. "Sounds all very good, but no sake for me. I don't drink. Health reasons," she added, before Xia could protest. "For some reason, alcohol massively screws with my aural implants. Makes my head feel like someone lodged a bat'leth in there. Not pleasant."

“That’s too bad,” Xia said. “Wonder if I could help with that?” she mused. “Shut down some nerve receptors for a bit.”

Charlene returned with the sake and green tea and took their orders. “That will be right up,” she promised with a smile and a bow. “Anything else you need, just ask.”

"Thank you for the offer," Mila said to Xia, shaking her head. "But I'd rather not. I prefer my nerve receptors free and working." She took a sip from her tea. "This is exquisite," she remarked.

“Gino only uses the best, and real ingredients, not replicated,” Xia said, as Charlene brought the sushi sampler to their table, along with their steaks. “Enjoy,” the beautiful, buxom blonde said.

Mila thanked the waitress, filled her little soy sauce bowl, took her chopsticks, and tried one of the sushi rolls, a cucumber maki. "Okay, this is definitely some good stuff." She smiled at Xia. "Thank you. I haven't had a fun day like this in a while."

Xia smiled. “Try the wasabi. It will clear your sinuses well into the future,” she said with a chuckle.
